Having emotionally immature parents can be very frustrating. This often adds up to childhood trauma, fear of abandonment and constant sense of resentment in relationships. With the holiday season making its way, it is possible that we will need to spend time with our parents. However, expecting that they will magically become emotionally mature is something that won’t happen. “Remember, the endless cycle of trying to fix your emotionally immature parents or have them show up for you will leave you burnt out and stressed,” wrote Therapist Morgan Pommells.
